About Me
I’m Beth Elsdon, a contemporary abstract artist based in Yorkshire, creating expressive, soulful artwork designed to bring meaning connections and stories into homes. My paintings blend soft, grounding tones with joyful pops of colour, inspired by movement, emotion, and the quiet beauty of nature.
I paint the stuff that's hard to put into words.
The grief that sits quietly in a corner. The hope that creeps back in when you least expect it. The feeling of standing at the beginning of something new and not quite knowing who you are yet.
Art, for me, has always been more than something to look at, it’s a language of feeling. Through a palette of muted colours, texture, and expressive mark-making, I aim to create pieces where the mind can wander, without judgment or perfectionism.
My path as an artist hasn’t been linear. I studied Fine Art over twenty years ago, but my confidence was soon overshadowed by self-doubt and an ongoing battle with eating disorders. For a long time, I stepped away from painting. When I eventually returned to it, it wasn’t with ambition or expectation, but with curiosity, healing, and the need to discover who I could be.
Now, painting is my sanctuary and my purpose. It’s how I make sense of the world. Every piece I create holds a story of freedom, acceptance, and hope, and it’s my wish that those same feelings live on in the homes my art becomes part of.
Thank you for being here, it means more than you know. I hope my work brings you the same sense of strength and connection it has brought me.
