The Pilates Collection
This collection came out of something really lovely. Last year, Heather from The Pilates Barn commissioned me to paint an original piece for the reception of her beautiful new Pilates studio. When I delivered it, we got chatting and ended up planning a whole collection together.
That became five original paintings, each based on one of the core principles of Pilates: Flow, Control, Concentration, Breath and Centering. I didn't want to paint the words literally. Instead, each one is about how that principle feels: the quiet focus before you start moving, the rhythm of your breath, the effort it takes to stay present.
They all share the same calm palette of soft creams, deep green and burnt orange, so they look beautiful on their own or hung together as a set.
This one's about taking a moment of calm in the middle of the chaos.
Moments Between was inspired by walks in the hills, where the deep breaths just hit a little different. You know that feeling when you stop at the top, look out, and everything goes quiet for a minute? Your shoulders drop, your head clears, and the busy stuff can wait. This painting is about holding on to that feeling.
It's my take on a landscape, done loosely and from memory. There's a soft, misty sky in creams and greys, a warm glow of burnt orange and peach along the horizon, and dark hills sitting low in the distance. Underneath are layers of blush pink, teal and deep blue-green, like light reflecting on water. I built up lots of texture so it feels weathered and real, like being out in the open air.
It would be lovely in a living room, bedroom or hallway, anywhere you'd like a little window to escape to. It looks beautiful with natural wood, wool, linen and earthy tones. Natural oak keeps it soft and warm, and dark oak brings out the deeper hills and blues.

This one's about the time after the storm.
I painted From Now On for that moment when you've been through something really hard, and then you notice the light starting to come back. It's a little promise you make to yourself that things can be different from now on, and that even after the darkest days, things can get brighter.
The deep greens and olive at the bottom feel heavy, a bit like storm clouds. Then as your eye moves up, it all softens into a warm, glowing light, with creamy whites, a hint of pale blue and little touches of blush pink. On the matte paper those soft colours look really gentle and dreamy.
The square shape makes it lovely and calming. It's perfect for a bedroom, a reading nook or a quiet corner, somewhere you go to rest. It looks beautiful with soft neutrals, linen and natural wood. Natural oak keeps it warm and soft, dark oak picks out the deep greens, and white keeps it light and airy.

This one's about hope.
You know those days when you've been struggling for a while, and then out of nowhere you get a little glimpse of how things could be again? That's what I was painting. It might be finding your way back to the person you used to be, or working out who you really are now. You're not quite there yet, but you're almost you again.
I used deep greens and pinks in this one, and they just felt really grounding to me. The dark green keeps it calm and steady, and the pinks are those little moments of light coming through.
I think it would look lovely in a bedroom or a quiet corner, somewhere you'll see it first thing in the morning. It goes really well with wood, plants and natural fabrics. Personally, I love it in the natural oak frame.

Meet the Artist
I’m a contemporary abstract artist based in Tadcaster, Yorkshire. I create expressive art for the messy, beautiful, complicated business of being human.
My paintings often begin without a fixed plan. Creating through layers of colour and texture, responding to what feels right as the piece develops. The process is intuitive and sometimes messy, a bit like life!
The work I create isn’t about perfection or trends. It’s about connection. Pieces that people are drawn to for reasons they can’t always explain, that bring meaning to the spaces they live in.
Alongside my studio practice, I open my gallery doors a few days each week and also run workshops focused on creativity through play and exploration, helping people reconnect with making art without worrying about rules or getting it “right.”

Some days you just need to get outside
This piece came after a walk I really really needed, away from the noise, the to-do list, the relentless pace of a super busy week. I found my own quiet corner in the woods nearby and just breathed. This painting came straight out of that feeling and the gorgeous light in the woods that day.
Soft blush pinks, muted greens and warm neutrals layered over deeper, grounding tones. There's a little hush to it. Like stepping into somewhere that's just yours, where nothing needs doing and nobody needs anything from you.
It's for anyone who knows the feeling of desperately needing five minutes of quiet in the middle of everything.

Children’s Creative Freedom Workshops

These small-group workshops are designed to give children space to explore colour, shape and movement without the pressure of “getting it right.”
Each session centers around a gentle theme, such as music, emotion, nature or energy — and encourages children to experiment freely using paint, mark-making, and mixed media techniques. There’s no focus on perfection or copying. Instead, we explore how art can express feelings, build confidence and spark imagination.
Children will learn simple techniques while being encouraged to trust their instincts, take creative risks and enjoy the process. Every child will leave with artwork they feel proud of, and a growing sense of creative confidence.
Parents can stay and have a coffee and a browse in the gallery too!
