I painted Colour Me Happy at a time when I was learning what it felt like to let go, and colour became my go-to. It's a love letter to the lift that colour can bring, and a bold, joyful letter to myself. It reminds me that you don't have to shrink to be loved. It's packed with colour: deep navy and teal, emerald green, zingy lime, baby pink, raspberry and flashes of bright neon pink, all broken up with big, loose sweeps of white. There are a few drips running down too. It's bold and a bit cheeky, but the white keeps it fresh so it never feels too much.
