This one's about taking a moment of calm in the middle of the chaos.
Moments Between was inspired by walks in the hills, where the deep breaths just hit a little different. You know that feeling when you stop at the top, look out, and everything goes quiet for a minute? Your shoulders drop, your head clears, and the busy stuff can wait. This painting is about holding on to that feeling.
It's my take on a landscape, done loosely and from memory. There's a soft, misty sky in creams and greys, a warm glow of burnt orange and peach along the horizon, and dark hills sitting low in the distance. Underneath are layers of blush pink, teal and deep blue-green, like light reflecting on water. I built up lots of texture so it feels weathered and real, like being out in the open air.
It would be lovely in a living room, bedroom or hallway, anywhere you'd like a little window to escape to. It looks beautiful with natural wood, wool, linen and earthy tones. Natural oak keeps it soft and warm, and dark oak brings out the deeper hills and blues.
