You can see the patchwork in the painting too. It's made of soft blocks of colour sitting side by side: dusky pinks and mauves, sage and deep greens, creamy whites and little splashes of ochre. Some bits are calm and some are a bit messier, with drips running down, a bit like real life. The muted tones keep it gentle, and the greens and pinks feel really grounding.
The square shape suits it perfectly. It would look lovely in a living room, bedroom or hallway, and it works beautifully with warm neutrals, natural wood and soft textures. Natural oak brings out the ochre, dark oak makes the greens richer, and white keeps it fresh and light.
