Before The Rules
120cm x 150cm | Mixed Media on canvas | Framed in an oak frame
Do you remember a time when we weren’t paralysed by perfection? We weren’t afraid to get things wrong? We felt joy in playful creativity without the weight of right or wrong.
Before The Rules was painted at a time when I need a little bit of creative freedom. When I needed to just play and let go of the outcome I was holding onto.
What would happen if I used this tool? What would happy if I mixed these colours together? I wonder how this would look with a palette knife. So I tried it all. And it felt magical.
A real statement piece and a reminder of how things outside of what we expect the outcome to be can bring so much joy, discovery and learning.
