I painted Colour Me Happy at a time when I was learning what it felt like to let go, and colour became my go-to. It's a love letter to the lift that colour can bring, and a bold, joyful letter to myself. It reminds me that you don't have to shrink to be loved. Showing up in all your colourful glory is the best way to tell your story.
It's packed with colour: deep navy and teal, emerald green, zingy lime, baby pink, raspberry and flashes of bright neon pink, all broken up with big, loose sweeps of white. There are a few drips running down too. It's bold and a bit cheeky, but the white keeps it fresh so it never feels too much.
